Boots Shoes

Boots Shoes
Should I wear boots or tennis shoes to walk to the bottom of the Grand Canyon?

I will be hiking to the bottom of the Grand Canyon in June. I am concerned hiking boots that will be too hot and heavy. Tennis shoes do? If not, any sugggestions for the type of boots?

Tennis shoes are not enough. Use nothing less than a boot media weight or upper middle trail shoe. The key is to keep your feet dry. Spray them with antiperspirant, then shirts, then good thick socks. And carry spares. In June, it's brutally hot in the canyon. Bring twice as much water you think you need some Gatorade powder to mix, take every inch with sunscreen and wear a hat. Take frequent breaks before going out when ever you can find a place of shade and drink! And still going to be thinking that have already been to hell and back, but never realized it would be so incredibly beautiful.
