Snow Skis
Advice on buying snow skis?
I am an intermediate skier who is looking to buy their first skis and boots, can someone who advise me on types, sizes, costs and any good deals. I ski once a year in Europe and the rental of equipment, but I would more so, looking for skis and boots. Thanks for any help. Andrew
Quite a few ski manufacturers have selectors on their websites that can give a good idea of what that would be suitable for you. I recommend you take a look at the selection of Ski www.elanskis.com even if you have no intention of getting Elan skis. You get a good idea of the ski length, width, profile, etc, that suits you. There are plenty of sites around which also makes ski reviews. If you get the chance to demo skis before buying, the better. I did it with my Rossignol Zenith 5 years and really liked them. But I know others who swear Atomic Metron by their 10s for example, which is why it is useful to deal with them first. I support those who say buy boots is more important than buying skis. Comfortable feet = happy skier. Get your boots first. They are easier to carry anyway. Do not pay full price for skis. Wait for summer sales and get great material discounts seasons. Sometimes you can get 50% or more.
