Can you help me with my ski trip?
I try to plan a ski trip in the West. In the past we have been in Vail, Beaver Creek and Steamboat. The skiing was fantastic every 3 seats, but only Vail seemed great after skiing. Any tips on other sites with a warm after-ski for the mid-30's? Can also be in UT, NV, WY, ID.
I have always had a great time in Breckenridge, CO Great bar scene and some fantastic food. Snowbird is fun because its only a few minutes outside of Salt Lake City, UT. Granted, you will not find a liquor store open on Sunday and can not buy alcohol after midnight (if I remember correctly), but the town fun. And if you're interested Nevada / California, I can recommend both Heavenly and Squaw Valley. Since you are interested in after skiing, I would go to heaven. You can take a gondola right on the mountain to the casinos (with Harveys, Harrahs, MontBleu, Horizon and all within a block of each other). In addition, there are a ton of restaurants and bars are awesome few blocks from there. Granted, I lived in Tahoe for years, so I'm biased, but I think its one of the best ski destinations in the country.
